Tell us about yourself
"I am a French Sculptor living in New York after several years in different continents, especially Asia.
My work is mainly figurative, I use positions and details of my sculptures bodies to express my thoughts.
My favorite materials are Pewter, Bronze and Steel. But not only. I love to experiment all the time with all kind of materials, as ideas pop up."
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
"20 years ago, I had the opportunity to work in an atelier in Paris, and then i never stopped.
A succession of life opportunities made me follow my husband in Jakarta, Moscow, Mumbai and now, New York where I was lucky enough to meet and work with wonderful sculptors who introduced me to bronze and later to steel, shared their knowledge, and made me grow on my artistic path."
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
"The interaction between body and mind fascinates me. I use the positions of my sculptures bodies as tools to communicate. Like an other alphabet without any words spoken.
I am inspired by language of the bodies, dance, yoga, objects, melodies, shapes."
DO YOU HAVE ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS YOU CAN TELL US ABOUT?
"At the moment I am experimenting electromagnetic levitation and shadows. And I am proud to announce that I will be part of the Art Salon called "Art Bath" at the end of April, presenting an installation of my Levitating Sculptures."
HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT MAKERSPACE?
"I found MakerSpace through a friend, Christine Galvez, we knew each other from the « before covid » Art Student League. I love working here in Brooklyn, i feel free to work and experiment at my own path. I work on metal and wood to improve the « mise en scene of my sculptures » and now I am going further mixing steel and wood, wood and pewter, resin and steel.. the access to a wide range of tools and universe gives me freedom."
